The Fraser Street Saxes is an all-saxophone band playing Bebop, Jazz, Latin Jazz, Classical, Pop, Soul, Funk and more. So what's not to like?

We work to build a nice community of saxophonists, fostering respectful mentor-like relationships between the older and younger musicians.

We are open to saxophonists in grades 7-12 with at least 3 years' playing experience. No audition required!

We rehearse one hour a week after school in downtown State College.

Our 2023 group has students from 7 different Centre County schools!

REHEARSAL LOCATION & TIMES

TIME: 4:30-5:30 pm. (It is ideal to arrive by 4:20, if possible).

DAY: Tuesdays in the Fall, Wednesdays following Thanksgiving.

LOCATION: St. Andrews Episcopal Church (S. Fraser St., overlooking the SCAHS football field)

** PFMS and MNMS STUDENTS are allowed to take a different after-school bus that will drop them off downtown close to St. Andrews. Speak with me to help make those arrangements easily.

TUITION

$150 per term. December mini-session is $60.

Need-based scholarships are available. Contact me to discuss confidentially.

FRASER STREET SAXTET

The Saxtet is a subset of the larger Fraser Street Saxes.

They learn and perform advanced repertoire.

Participation is by audition only.

All members will also participate in the Fraser Street Saxes concurrently.

This number of members and the instrumentation are not set in stone, though there are typically 4 or 5 members.

Auditions will be Tuesday, August 29.

Saxtet tuition is $65.
